Transportation in Milan

Getting around Milan is relatively easy and convenient, thanks to its efficient public transportation system. You can use your credit card's tap function to pay for public transportation, including the Metro, which has four lines that cover the city. You can also use your contactless payment card to touch in and out of the Metro. Alternatively, you can buy tickets from within the subway stations or at tabaccherias, which start at €2.20. If you prefer to walk, Milan is also a very walkable city, with a pedestrian-only zone near the Duomo and Sforza Castle. You can also use buses, trams, and the filobus system to get around the city.
